* Editor's Commentaries - #40  Trojan Horses & the US of A

What's the Question?  Stay 'tuned,' for the editor's answer.

. Old saying attributed by the editor to Helen of Troy, "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts!"  Old Greek saying (coined by the editor), 'If you can't defeat your enemy via direct attack & traditional warfare, try subtlety.

. Did anyone say Trojan Horse?

. Once upon a time, long ago, in antiquity, the epic account goes, the armies of the Greeks led by seemingly mythical warrior greats could not overcome the Trojans in direct warfare; after failing in their long-protracted attempts to overthrow Troy and slaughter its inhabitants, they hit upon a clever ruse, they would play to the vanity and idolatry of the Trojans (which the Greeks were also subject to, you've heard the old saw "it takes one to know one") and would leave a parting "gift" behind for the Trojans, while they feigned to cease and desist from warring against the Trojans, and to depart from the area.

The "gift" the Greeks left behind for the Trojans was a beautiful, and huge, carved Horse Statue, which hid a squadron of the Greeks' most valorous and elite troops.  The Trojans were delighted with the peace-offering trophy left by the Greeks, and though there was no need to protect the bauble from anyone, they took the prize inside, into the heretofore impregnable city-state fortress of Troy.  The Trojans celebrated their "victory" with drunken revelry.  But during the night the Greek army returned to await the opening of the Trojan fortress by their covert commandos; the elite Greek squadron crept out of the Trojan Horse, overcame the token force of keepers of the fortress-gates, and opened the unconquerable Trojan fortress to their slaughtering army.  Troy fell!  What the Greeks had failed to do over many years was accomplished in a night by craft & subtlety, thanks to the vanity, foolishness, and paganism of the Trojans, which the Greeks used against them (fatal weaknesses which the Greeks ironically shared).

Today the United States of America is host to millions, yes I did say MILLIONS of people who claim foremost and ultimate allegiance not to God the Father, God the Son - Jesus Christ, & God the Holy Ghost, nor to the United States of America, but instead to something in diametric opposition to God the Father, God the Son - Jesus Christ, & God the Holy Ghost, and the USA; this is a mortal problem.  The United States in the near future will decide whether it will side with the pagans, the heathens, the infidels, the worshippers of false gods, worshippers of demons...in the process ostensibly of pursuing a pluralist, secular humanist  agenda (which has been in the works for many decades now).

If the United States stays the wayward course it has pursued for so long, it will become a party directly participating in the attempted overthrow of Israel.

I would like to believe better of the United States, but I believe it will even further align itself with the powers of evil against God, and suffer the consequences.

. He doesn't really believe that old Trojan Horse story, does he?

Occasionally I think while standing up, walking, or even chewing gum, though I can't say I necessarily do my best thinking while exerting myself in these ways - Editor/Ed.

Boys are so silly, I prefer to do my deep thinking, reflection, ruminating, and meditation, while I am reclining at length in the tub, preferably with several servants to attend to my every whim and need.  [One must be careful to only think in moderation while soaking, though, lest one should turn into a prune!]  Umm, I wonder if those silly hunky stone-age boys are thinking about me?  If they think they can use me like I'm some worthless disposable thing, they've got another thing coming!

{No, bathing beauty.  If I had a lady like you to think about (but a little less "hard-bodied"), I wouldn't manage to think of anything else.  It is true, God does work in mysterious ways.}

Al's secret to his superior thinking - sitting down.

 Ah yes, now I see the resemblance between Albert Einstein and CBM's Editor, they are both hard-bodied hunks (almost as if chiseled out of stone) and undeniably dreamers.
